If you purchase a vBulletin license you will be able to download a converter called impex from the vB website.

@Mobile16, if you have no experience with vBulletin I would suggest you to hire someone to do the SMF to VB transfer.

And yes, SMF to VB transfer is possible using that Impex tool.

Yes it is possible. My forum was previously in SMF before we made the switch to vB. For a fee, I can get my partner to do it for you if you want.

Nulled vBulletin is considered illegal by International Law and is a copyright violation. I would say to you NOT to go with a web hosting company in any country that respects such laws. (Russia & Germany don't) because you will find that you will be reported to vBulletin for piracy and liable to your hosting company for losses.

Just thought you might want to know the risks.

This isn't a VB support forum. You can easily get the price of VB and its licensing option from their website.

Your right this isnt a vbulletin forum, but he asked a question on how much one is!

If he wants to talk about using a nulled script then he is allowed to, but if he puts a download link then that is different!

This is a forum where you get help with anything, most people know that vbulletin is about $160-$195 for a licence so it wouldnt have taken long for you to just write that would it?

I would not recommend using a nulled script as it can cause problems and it is theft at the end of the day, but when people stop using cracked photoshop,dreamweaver, blah blah

Who is to say that he doesnt want to try out vbulletin before buying?

Your opinion is valued but do not tell people to go to other forums for a answer if you know the answer, if you dont then just dont answer it!

I certainly would not recommend using a nulled script.

I once bought a license from a seller on DP that went bad (the fella cheated me by sending the license but later changed the password so that I couldn't access). I managed to install that particular vBulletin file attached to that license but after a few months, I got a notice from a representative of vBulletin ordering me to take down the forum or else they will pursue legal action.

Not sure how did they even find the forum since its not exactly well-known....but the point is, do not use an unlicensed vB. They will know!

^ The license means you get the software legally from VB.

You will have two options.

1. Owned license
2. Yearly license

With owned license you just pay one time fee and get the license for lifetime.

With yearly license (cheaper than owned license) you pay the fees yearly, after 1 year the license expires and your site is listed as using "expired license" which is illegal.

When you buy the license you can see a link in members area on vbulletin.com (Download vBulletin). That is your link to download the files.

I wasn't using a nulled version. I was using a legit vBulletin software which license was later revoked after a deal went bad.

I know. He asked a question and if I knew, I should have answered it.
If one wants to buy/use vbulletin, what's the first thing he would do?
Come to another vbulletin forum and ask for the price of it?

I think there was a reason I said so. May be I shouldn't have.

We are all here to help each other and I think I was helping him in my own way. By encourage him to do a little research and get better understanding.

it means that VB software can be downloaded from the site free when I purchase the licence?
