Question How Do I Manage a MySql Database for Phpbb3 Forum?

Hi All -

I was just wondering if there is any tips or tricks to managing large databases? I mean the DB is about 500MB right now and growing every day.

I know that the site performance is proportionate to the servers and all that, but how much does DB size play into it?

Also, when it gets REALLY BIG, is there a way to split it in two without screwing up the whole board?

I just worry that eventually my board performance will suffer because of this.

Any help you all can provide would be AWESOME!! Oh I am using MySQL...

This mioght be a question to ask at the Phpbb3 authors support forums. Every forum software has its own tweaks.

However google is your friend:

I don't know much about forums, but if you have cPanel you might have PHPMyAdmin available. This allows you to manage your database manually if you know what you are doing.
